Trauma-Informed Toolkit
Written for trauma-informed facilitation, but frankly this is just good practice for all facilitation. Starts with the vital question: “Am I the right person to be facilitating this?”
Facilipedia
I’m slightly biased here, as one of the co-founders is one of my alumni, but facilitation is their core business, and they know what they’re doing. They also root their work in solid theory like Susan Wheelan’s Integrated Model of Group Development, which is a must if you’re serious about helping teams thrive.
UCCRN Facilitation Toolkit
Let’s not forget the planet. This one helps you bring climate and sustainability into the room, giving the world a seat at the table..
NHS Facilitator Toolkit
Straightforward and healthcare-focused, but honestly just solid best practice for anyone. Short, accessible, pragmatic.
Liberating Structures
Old but gold. A free, well-tested set of structures that work across contexts, digital or in-person. If you only pick one, pick this. Founders Henri Lipmanowicz and Keith McCandless came up with the 1-2-4-all method…. Enough said.
SessionLab Library
Yes, a lot of toolboxes look, walk ‘n’ talk the same. This one curates the greats (hat tip to Hyper Island) without forcing you through 20 pop-ups, or spamming you to death after you’ve given them your email.
Participatory Methods
For starters, this is simply a beautiful site – yes, I’m shallow – but it’s also full of engaging ideas, like the Collective Rube Goldberg Machine, which I now need to run. Great for in-person participation.
Gamestorming
From David Gray (who literally wrote the book), this one is playful, fun, but always has outcomes in mind.
